How do CDX and HDX compare with the Denon and Pioneer table-top players?

A Question for Biff!

"How do CDX and HDX compare with the Denon and Pioneer table-top players? "

This question was recently asked and Biff thought he's share his answer with everyone.

HDX is a new and innovative piece that allows an external hard drive to be inserted into the unit with all of your music. Plus it still plays CDs. So there is really no standard to compare it to.

In my opinion, and EVERYONE has one. It really depends on what you are going to do with them……

Mobile, I would stick with the Pioneer or Denon (again my opinion) because the CDX is heavy and I personally would not want to cart them around. I would definitely buy them if I was using them in a bar or home application.

That being said, I think the CDX is one of the most innovate products of last year…..it has the feel closest to a turntable….good response effects and such.

So if you are a turntablest looking for the feel closest to your 1200’s this is your piece. If you are a mobile DJ who does a lot of traveling and likes the feel of the Pioneer or Denon, I wouldn’t switch.

May not be the answer you are looking for, but it is hard to just give a yes or no answer….All three are on display in the store and available on the web site. The best bet is to play with them and see what you think.

Not a very committal answer, but the real difference is a matter of feel and not one of technical comparison. If you are in the Detroit area drop into one of our stores and we'll be more than happy to help you choose what is right for you.
